# External Access Guide

> Connect Facebook Page or WhatsApp Business Account to AGO

This guide is for businesses who want to connect their Facebook Page (Messenger) and/or WhatsApp Business Account to AGO, enabling AI-powered customer communication.

## Overview

To connect your messaging channels to AGO, you need to:

1. Grant AGO access to your Facebook Page or WhatsApp Business Account
2. Share the required credentials with the AGO team

There are two methods to grant access:

* **Partner Access (Recommended)**: Add AGO as a partner in Meta Business Suite
* **Token Sharing**: Generate and share access tokens directly

## Method 1: Partner Access (Recommended)

This method allows AGO to access your assets directly through Meta Business Suite.

### For Facebook Page (Messenger)

#### Prerequisites

* You must be an **Admin** of the Facebook Page
* You must have a [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/) account

#### Steps

1. Go to [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/)
2. Navigate to **Settings** → **Business Settings** → **Partners**
3. Click **Add Partner**
4. Enter AGO's Business ID: **`1290467605973443`**
5. Click **Next**
6. Select your **Facebook Page** to share
7. Assign these permissions:
   * **Pages**: Full Control or Partial Access (Messaging required)
8. Click **Add**

Once complete, notify the AGO team and they will complete the integration setup.

### For WhatsApp Business

#### Prerequisites

* You must have a **WhatsApp Business Account** (WhatsApp Business Platform, not the free app)
* You must have access to [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/)

#### Steps

1. Go to [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/)
2. Navigate to **Settings** → **Business Settings** → **Accounts** → **WhatsApp accounts**
3. Select your WhatsApp Business Account
4. Click **Assign Partners**
5. Enter AGO's Business ID: **`1290467605973443`**
6. Assign **Full Control** permissions
7. Click **Save Changes**

Once complete, notify the AGO team with:

* Your **Phone Number** (e.g., +33612345678)
* Your **Business Display Name**

## Method 2: Token Sharing

If partner access is not possible, you can generate and share access tokens directly.

### For Facebook Page (Messenger)

#### Step 1: Get Your Page ID

1. Go to your Facebook Page
2. Click **About** or **Page Transparency**
3. Find and note your **Page ID** (a numeric string like `683308641532890`)

#### Step 2: Generate a Page Access Token

**Using Meta Business Suite (Recommended)**:

1. Go to [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/)
2. Navigate to **Settings** → **Business Settings** → **Users** → **System Users**
3. Create a System User (if needed) with **Admin** role
4. Click **Add Assets** and add your Facebook Page
5. Click **Generate Token**
6. Select AGO's App (if listed) or your own App
7. Add these permissions:
   * `pages_messaging`
   * `pages_manage_metadata`
   * `pages_read_engagement`
8. Click **Generate Token**
9. Copy the token securely

#### Step 3: Share with AGO Team

Send the following to the AGO team via a **secure channel** (not plain email):

* **Page ID**
* **Page Name**
* **Page Access Token**

### For WhatsApp Business

#### Step 1: Get Your WhatsApp IDs

1. Go to [Meta Business Suite](https://business.facebook.com/)
2. Navigate to **Settings** → **WhatsApp accounts** or **WhatsApp Manager**
3. Note your **WhatsApp Business Account ID**
4. Click on your phone number and note the **Phone Number ID**

#### Step 2: Generate an Access Token

1. Go to **Business Settings** → **Users** → **System Users**
2. Select or create a System User with **Admin** role
3. Click **Add Assets** and add your WhatsApp Business Account
4. Click **Generate Token**
5. Add these permissions:
   * `whatsapp_business_messaging`
   * `whatsapp_business_management`
6. Click **Generate Token**
7. Copy the token securely

#### Step 3: Share with AGO Team

Send the following to the AGO team via a **secure channel**:

* **WhatsApp Business Account ID**
* **Phone Number ID**
* **Phone Number** (e.g., +33612345678)
* **Display Name**
* **Access Token**

## Security Best Practices

* **Use secure channels** to share tokens (password manager, encrypted messaging)
* **Never share tokens** via plain email or unencrypted chat
* **System User tokens are recommended** - they are long-lived and can be revoked
* **Review permissions periodically** and revoke access if no longer needed

## What Happens Next?

Once you grant access or share credentials:

1. The AGO team will configure the integration
2. You'll be notified when the connection is active
3. You can test by sending a message to your Page or WhatsApp number
4. The AGO AI Agent will begin responding to customer messages
